Fairfax County Voters have TWO elections this year.

 

Special Election for the 11th Congressional District - There is a Special Election to fill the open seat due to the death of Rep. Gerry Connolly.  Both the Republican Party and Democratic Party are holding party-run canvasses to select their respective nominees.  See the calendar below for dates.

• Early voting opens Friday, July 25th and ends Saturday, September 6th.

  • If you are on the permanent absentee ballot application list (PABAL), the Office of Elections will start mailing those ballots on July 25th.​

• Deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, September 2nd. After the deadline, voters can use same-day registration and cast a provisional ballot.

• Deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail​ is 5pm, Friday, August 29th.

• Election Day is Tuesday, September 9th, 2025. Voters must vote at their assigned precinct polling place. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

​​General Election for Virginia Governor, Lt. Governor, State Attorney General and representatives to the Virginia House of Delegates.

• Early voting opens Friday, September 19th and ends Saturday, November 1st.

  • If you are on the permanent absentee ballot application list (PABAL), the Office of Elections will start mailing those ballots on September 19th.​

• Deadline to register to vote is Tuesday, October 14th. After the deadline, voters can use same-day registration and cast a provisional ballot.

• Deadline to request an absentee ballot by mail​ is 5pm, Friday, October 24th.

• Election Day is Tuesday, November 4th, 2025. Voters must vote at their assigned precinct polling place. Polls are open from 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
